Gravadlax salmon or Gravlax is associated with smoked Salmon although no smoke is involved in its production at all. Raw Salmon fillets are cured in a dry marinade of salt sugar and dill over several days. The natural moisture of the fish combines with the marinade and forms the brine for the curing process. This traditional Nordic speciality is served as starter and on buffets like the famous ‘smorgasbord’.
